Try Outs

During try-outs evaluators will judge players based on:

  • technical ability (receiving, passing, shooting, and dribbling),
  • physical ability (athleticism),
  • tactical level (understanding of game situations), and
  • psychological aspects (coachability, desire, dedication, commitment, etc.).
Coaches evaluations, completed at the end of the previous soccer season, will also be considered for all returning travel players. However, the coach’s evaluations are not a substitute for try-outs; all players must try-out. Any player not placed on a travel team will be referred to our recreational program. Teams will be chosen by grouping players based on their try-out, previous season evaluation (where applicable), level of commitment, and desired competitiveness.

Instructions to Parents for Tryouts

  • Bring a Copy of your childs birth certificate to registration.
  • Fill out the registration form as completely as possible and return it to the registration table.
  • Fill out the Medical Release form. We will have a notary on site at try-outs.
  • Write your child's name on one of the scrap sheets of paper (in BIG BOLD LETTERS) with one of the available markers. Hand the "name tag" to your child.
  • Direct your child to the picture line on the south end of the barn. The pictures are used for matching faces with names and they may be used for the required IYSA player passes.
  • After your child's picture has been taken, please direct your child to the appropriate field.

    Post-Tryout Information

Players will be notified of their status before commitment night. If you have not heard from a KSC representative by that date, please contact us.

If your child's team chooses to enter a tournament (most teams enter at least one), the team manager will request an additional payment of approximately $40 per tournament.
