Kokomo Soccer Club Announces 2017 Senior Scholarship Winners

The Kokomo Soccer Club is proud to announce its senior scholarship winners for 2017. Our first recipient is Taylor High School senior Hunter Stephens, son of Tiffany Brogoitti and Todd Stephens. Hunter has been a soccer player since age 6 and part of our travel program since he was 9 years old. He is a 4-year varsity soccer player at Taylor High School and was team captain his junior and senior year. Hunter was awarded Offensive MVP his sophomore, junior, and senior years, and broke the school record for goals his junior year. He is planning to attend Manchester, where he would like to play soccer. Kokomo High School senior Vinh Lee, son of Chee and Ahn Lee, is our second scholarship winner. Vinh has played travel soccer for 10 years and has participated in the Olympic Development Program throughout his career. He was a four year participant of the Kokomo High Soccer Program, and has been very active in local Boy Scouts. Recently Vinh completed his Eagle Scout Project where he organized a group to build picnic tables for the Kokomo Soccer Club and fill the pot holes in the parking lot. He plans to attend IUK to study Nursing. Our next scholarship recipient is Catherine Hale, daughter of Kris and Amy Hale. This Northwestern senior played soccer at KSC since she was 11 and participated on her high school team for 4 years. She was the only girl selected to play on the 14U Boys team in 2013. Cate plans to attend IUK where she is also planning to become a nurse. Eastern High School senior Abby Kolk, daughter of Erik and Angie Kolk, is our next scholarship winner. Abby has played travel soccer for 5 seasons with KSC and has participated in the Olympic Development Program 2015 and 2016. She was a four year participant of the Eastern High Soccer Program, and was team captain her senior year. Abby will be playing soccer at the University of St. Francis where she plans to get her degree in Exercise Science. Our final scholarship recipient is Nicholas Yockey, son of Jeff Yockey and Mindi Strong. This Westfield senior played soccer at KSC for 6 seasons early in life and just recently returned from Westfield’s club to finish out his senior season with KSC. He has been a soccer player since he was 4 years old under the guidance of his father as his coach. Nicholas plans to attend IUPUI where he will study Materials Engineering.
